On 01 July, 2008 in Holiday Inn, Skopje, New York University Skopje and Staffordshire University, officially promoted the cooperation for the undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in business and computer science. At the same occasion, a film was presented which promotes the link between the two universities, filmed on locations in Stoke and Skopje.

Viktorija Atanasovska, MSc., Teacihng Assistant, won 4-year part-time PhD scholarship at Staffordshire University, funded both by Staffordshire University and the Open Society Institute. The PhD programme will start from September 2008.

Dr. Vasko Naumovski, Assistant Professor at NYUS won the scholarship of the US State Department for the Study Institute on US Foreign Policy. His research will be conducted in June and July 2008 at the University of Florida, as well as during the study visits to Miami, Chicago and Washington.

Viktorija Atanasovska, MSc, Teaching Assistant at Faculty of Business Administration, won the award for the best research paper in the area of capital market in Macedonia, at the 9th Annual Conference organized by Macedonian Stock Exchange from 10th to 12th of April 2008 in Ohrid. In a solemn occasion the award was handed over by Prof. Jane Miljovski, PhD, member of the Macedonian Stock Exchange Board of Directors.

Kalina Maleska-Gegaj, - Teaching Assistant at the Department of English Language and Literature (NYUS) this month published a book of short stories entitled “The Naming of the Insect”. She also published a short story entitled “A House on the Drim River” in a US literature and philosophy magazine called “Janus Head” in January 2008. Ljubisa Stefanoski, Teaching Assistant at NYUS, as a member of the International Kopaonik School of Natural Law (Universitas Iuris Naturalis Copaonici), a regular participant of the symposia in 2005, 2006 and 2007 and author of numerous works from the field of Intellectual Property Law, Civil Law, Family Law, Inheritance Law and Alternative Dispute Resolution, in December 2007 was awarded the "Littera Honoris Diligenti Membro" (Certificate for Devoted Member) due to his contributions and efforts for promotion of principles of law.

On 13 December, 2007, in Holliday Inn hotel in Skopje, New York University Skopje NYUS (NYUS) and Staffordshire University (SU) signed an official agreement for validation of the postgraduate studies that lead to Business Awards and Computing Awards. The representatives of both Universities officially announced the partnership between both institutions, expressing their sincere belief for long term and successful cooperation through development of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, PhD studies, research, exchange programmes and academic staff, as well as exchange of information and publications.

Ljubisa Stefanoski, Teaching Assistant at NYUS, was an active participant in the one-year Tempus project „Towards EU standards for copyright and related rights law“, realized by the Centre for Intellectual Property Education in Skopje, the Centre for International Industrial Proeprty Studies (CEIPI) of the Robert Schuman University in Strasbourg, the University of Macedonia in Thessaloniki and the University of Maribor, which was concluded in October 2007. Within the project he has passed the exam as one of the best trainees and therefore accomplished a study visit in Greece.

Dear Students,
On my behalf and on the behalf of all at the New York University Skopje (professors, assistants and administrative personal) I welcome you to the academic 2007/2008 year.
I am convinced that all of you are ready and eager for the new knowledge which I hope you will obtain in this semester.
I want to underline again our goal: It is the goal to give you knowledge and skills which are at the level necessary for work at top modern institutions and companies.
Our university has established it ‘self as a high quality education university. We aim at further quality increase in the education process.
I wish that in this semester we make another step towards our goal high quality education.
But we can not do this without your engagement. Your engagement is a crucial part of our road in strengthening our position as a leading educational institution.
We will continue to collaborate with professors across the region and to straiten our collaboration with other respected universities from Europe and America.
Beside our educational role we insist also very much on our goal to open to you the cultural and ethical principals which are prevailing in the developed countries, especially west Europe and US.
